The Latino College Access Program is an initiative of Centro Campesino.. LCAP's goal is to increase and provide college information, assistance, guidance and support for Latino students and their parents in southern Minnesota. Our vision is that all Latino students will have access to information and guidance about college -helping them to continue with their higher education goals.

What does the program do?
We have advisors that help students with their college related questions and concerns. They offer a series of educational workshops for students covering different topics related to college. These workshops take place after school or on the weekends. The program also organizes college trips around the state.

Who can join the program?
The program is open to all Latino high school students 9-12 in Owatonna, Waseca, Austin, Faribault, Albert Lea and Northfield.

How can I join the program?
You need to fill out a program application. Once you do this you need to mail it to us and we will contact you. You can also ask in your school for an application or you can download the form online or give us a call.

Individual Guidance: We will help you and your parents prepare an individualized plan to go to college. Our advisors will always be available to help you before you apply to college and for the rest of your college career.

Educational Workshops Include:
•College 101
•Financial aid
•Scholarship Applications

The Admissions Application

Below is a list of Minnesota colleges and universities that accept the Common Application when you apply for admissions. If you are planning to apply to more than one of these schools I would suggest to apply using the common application.

Admissions Application Fee Waiver Request Form!!!

Several of you have expressed concern about paying $25 every time you send in an admissions application. If you're applying to one school it might not be so bad. But if you're applying for more than one school it gets a little expensive. Why pay admission application fees when you don't have to?

Accuplacer and ACT Study Guides and Other Resources!

I've compiled a list of websites that can help you prepare for taking the Accuplacer test and ACT. It is important that you prepare diligently for both tests.

Scholarships for Latinos

Here are some websites that contain information for Latino scholarships. Scholarship amounts, qualifications and deadlines vary. Please go to the website of the organization that sponsors the scholarship to find the most up to date and accurate information. General sites do not always contain accurate details of the scholarship, especially the deadlines for application submission.
