Dear Friends and Allies,
Centro Campesino is proud to announce its third scholarship fund award round. This year members of our youth organizing initiative now united under the Now! Youth Action Network will be distributing $ 7,000.00 in scholarships to deserving Latino students going to college. Nine students from Northfield, Faribault, Austin, Waseca, Medford, and Albert Lea will be receiving a scholarship from our fund.
These scholarships have a significant impact in our community and ensure that more Latinos start and stay on their paths towards a college degree. Thank you to all of you that have contributed to the fund. We encourage you to continue showing your support as we formally start our fundraising for 2010.
With our new structure, we are in the process of recruiting hundreds of Latino students to become members of our Now! Youth Action Network. As a new goal, we want to raise $100,000.00 for scholarships to send more Latinos to college. We want to create the largest Latino scholarship fund in Minnesota! You can join us in this effort by supporting our fund with a monthly contribution.
We are looking for 400 allies and supporters to join this effort by contributing $20.00 a month. You can contribute less or more. It is entirely up to you. Two ways you can do this: 1) E-mail us with your information stating that you want to contribute to the fund and we will send you a monthly reminder on the mail. 2) You can set up a monthly payment via charity box on our web page www.centrocampesino.net Make sure to add scholarships on the donation description.
